Gingerbread Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

  • 1 mug/cup unsweetened plant milk
  • 1 tsp raw cacao powder
  • 2 tblsp dairy free dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1-2 tsp maple syrup (depending on taste!)

Optional

  • whippable vegan cream or spray cream
  • vegan marshmallows
  • dairy free dark chocolate – grated

Instructions

  1. Almost fill a mug with the unsweetened almond milk and pour into a small saucepan
  2. Whisk in the maple syrup, the cacao powder and all the spices and warm everything over a medium heat, whisking occasionally
  3. Pour back into the mug, spoon on the optional cream, drop in the marshmallows and sprinkle over the optional grated chocolate
  4. Sit back and enjoy!
