Meg has SO MANY names other than just Meg.  Ms Meg.  Princess Foofala.  Meg Pest.  Devil Breath.

Because even though we love her more than life itself, we’re baaaaaad parents when it comes to teeth cleaning.  We know we should.  We also know how impossible it would be.  Meg is not THAT dog.  You know, the tolerant/obedient type who takes everything in its stride.  Meg is the weirdest, most stubborn dog I’ve ever met.  Every day she finds new levels of oddness – ranging from suddenly stopping what she’s doing (unless it’s eating) to vacantly stare into space.  To deciding that the arm of the chair is a more comfortable place to sleep than the chair itself.

None of these things would I change for all the tea in China though ❤

She’ll also eat anything – literally.  Except lettuce ?  But sometimes it’s nice to know what’s actually going into the things I feed her with.  And if one of the many nicknames for your pup is also Devil Breath then these frozen treats are perfect!  Just 4 ingredients, one of which is mint for frosty fresh(er) breath!

And thanks to our Pumpkin Dog Treats we also recently made an Instagram friend with @Karmathepom who is just one member of a whole family of the most adorable fluffballs.  They also have their own website full of useful information and stories on how you can take THE best care of your best friend.  They’re always looking for healthy recipes for their gorgeous pups and loved ours so we wanted to create some more delicious treats for them.  Ms Meg Devil Breath is not complaining of course.  And would happily gobble up as many of these Blueberry Mint and Yoghurt Dog Treats as we were willing to give her!

  • I would love to make these for my dog. I can only find the list of ingredients. I was wondering if you just mix them and just freeze them? Thank you.

    • Hi Kristi

HUGE apologies, we updated the Cookbook plugin recently (it gives the nice recipe cards at the end of the blog post) and it seems to have done something to the recipe instructions on a number of posts! We’ve contacted the plugin developer but in the meantime I’m working my way through the recipes one by one and replacing the instructions.
Anyway! I’ve updated this recipe for you now – but yes, basically you mix all the ingredients together either in a food processor or a blender before pouring into freezer moulds and freezing until set. Lucky pup you have there, Meg sends her woofy best wishes ?

Whether you’re cooking for one or for a houseful I believe food doesn’t have to be complicated to be full of FLAVOUR and I want to show you how.  I’ve been a rigorous meal planner for over a decade whilst embracing seasonal ingredients (because that’s where the real flavour is!)

I’m also a dedicated dog mum to Nooch and Baxter and enjoy cooking them homemade treats (many of which are posted here) when I’m not screaming at the tennis or devouring fantasy fiction.
